This Series I did it during my artist residency of one month in Sanskriti Kendra, Delhi, India
Trying to extract the real flavor of Indian culture; for us (foreign) many of the things that are part of usual life in India, for us are very distinguish and different from our own culture. In my paintings I would like to represent things like the simple “paan leaves” that people in India have and enjoy in most of the corners of the cities; or the “chai” that is a so rooted tradition.
After living in India for 6 months and getting to know some of the traditions and Indian costumes my fascination for the country brings me again and again to explore more of this.
One trip that trigger my desire to explore more artistically speaking India was the one that I did to Pushkar; Seeing people from all over India, the warmness, the open heart of the people in this great event, at the camel fair, make me to start taking hundreds of pictures that lead me to make a Series of paintings.
